Bible Verse

Proverbs 31:38

"Her children rise up and call her blessed."

Connection

I'm a mama with two beautiful children. My children are now in high school, but I can honestly reflect back, and say that I have always been "in the moment" for every milestone and important part of their life. They are my world. One of my favorite memories was being able to breastfeed both of my children when they were born. There is no greater bond then this experience from their mama. It was so important for me, and I always looked forward to this closeness, knowing they were safe in my arms.

Another memory I have was the birthday parties that my mom and I planned for my children from their first birthday to school age. We had a different theme every year. I had so much fun designing their invitation, and then we would plan all the decorations, food, and games. I remember one in particular when my son was turning 4. We had an Elmo party for him. My mom designed a bean bag toss that she made out of wood. For the favors, we bought real live goldfish and glass bowls to represent Dorothy. It was so fun for all of us!

I could go on and on, but one more memory I want to share is the summers I spent at Girl Scout camp. I loved every minute making memories with my daughter in the hot humid summers. It was also very special that my son got to come along, and stay with the boys/brothers all day.

There's not a minute that goes by that I don't think about my children, even at eighteen and fifteen years old. I know my children know how loved they are by me. I know this, because I feel their love for me each day. It makes me tear up, because I believe God gave me the gift to love on people, especially my loved ones. I know how incredibly blessed I am to have such beautiful, kind, caring, thoughtful and loving children. Every day, I thank God for my children, and how HE shaped who they are today.

Devotion

If you have children, no matter what age they are, reflect and think about your favorite memories you have with them. If you don't have a devotion notebook, I strongly encourage you to start recording these devotions in your own notebook. Writing about these memories, will make you smile, feel loved, and bring that joy that you once felt in that moment. We are their comfort and guidance always.
